WHAT IS BERKELEY SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION?
 Berkeley Software Distribution refers to a demanding version of the UNIX operating system. Berkeley UNIX was developed in 1970s and was distributed by the University of California at Berkeley. Berkeley UNIX is the descendant version of UNIX. Berkeley Software distribution system is usually lead by different versions of BSD. BSD UNIX is well accepted system and the commercial performance of the UNIX system depends upon some BSD codes.

Earlier, BSD was used as a foundation for many proprietary versions of UNIX such as Sun’s SunOS, NeXT’s NeXTSTEP, Sequent’s Dynix, DEC’s Ultrix and OSF/1 AXP. But at present only the last one is persistent. Currently, the three most popular casino games decedents used are Open BSD, Free BSD and Net BSD. These are derived from 386BSD and 4.4BSD-Live, by various routes.
